✨ Meet our special guest: Liberty Styles ✨
Tap dancer and beatmaker from NYC, Liberty (they/she) creates subversive worlds with rhythm, dance, and electronics. They’ve performed at the Apollo Theater, Joyce Theater, and American Repertory Theater, and have been featured in The New York Times, Jazzwise, and Billboard.

Join us on 20th September for our Grand Opening, where Liberty will not only perform at night but also lead two inspiring workshops during the day:

🕒 Schedule:
15:00 – 16:00 | Tap Fundamentals 
We’ll focus on covering a variety of basic tap dance steps. We will play with how these fundamentals can be the building blocks of creating a groove. Tap shoes and street shoes both welcome. We’ll learn a bit of tap history, connect our dancing to the jazz/swing tradition, and leave with some core steps we can take home to practice. Great for absolute beginners // all levels welcome.

16:00 – 17:00 | Grooves & Variations
In this hour we’ll build on the fundamentals by playing with switching between grooves and learning some more dynamic variations on steps in sequence. We will incorporate the idea of improvisation, using the fundamentals as our home base for playing together over grooves. Great as a supplement to the first hour for beginners // all levels welcome.
Tap shoes welcome - street shoes also fine!
