The Rhythm Rascals We're very happy to be hosting some fantastic musicianers this week. Award-winning Scottish jazz and blues vocalist Ali Affleck will be making her Austin debut and leading the Rhythm Rascals. Known for her deep knowledge of early jazz and prohibition-era blues, Ali brings forgotten classics to life with her expressive, unpretentious style. Ali leads several bands in Scotland, including the all-women international group The Traveling Janes. Her appearance here follows a major international tour, with recent performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Snake City Jazz Festival (Denmark), and The Hot Jazz Jubilee (Sacramento, California) The band includes: Katie Cavera, a seasoned performer known for her mastery of the four-string banjo and rhythm guitar. And multi-instrumentalist Riley Baker, who began performing professionally at the age of 12 and currently resides in Los Angeles, and Jonathan Greene for New Orleans on reeds, along with your friendly neighborhood swing night hosts, Lauryn & Ryan Gould. Join us Mondays for hot jazz and swing music + dancing with an incredible lineup of bands and lessons from legends of the Austin swing scene and founders of Four on the Floor, Laura Malloy and Matt Jones!
