Free dance workshops and party on Saturday, December 20, and join Swing in Utrecht's 'Taste of Swing’. 

Learn more about swing dancing, make friends on the dance floor, and let loose to jazz music. There will be a daytime program with free dance workshops for beginners. Then we'll end the afternoon with a swinging party.

Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, and more
There's something for everyone. Go fast or slow, dance with a partner or go solo. Choose and mix the dance styles you want to try.

The dance styles:

• Lindy Hop (partner dance), learn more about musicality, connection, and improvisation on the dance floor.
  
• Solo Jazz (without a partner), become one with the music!
  
• Blues (partner dance), slow down, flow more smoothly, and get closer to each other.
  
• Collegiate Shag (partner dance), get started with flashy footwork, creativity, and silliness on the dance floor. 
  
• Balboa (partner dance), do it faster, more subtly, and get closer to each other.
  
• Some of these dances fall under the term swing dance, a dance of African-American origin that developed in the 1920s to 1950s in the black community of Harlem, New York.
  

Workshops

• Supervision by max. 2 dance teachers
  
• For beginners and dancers without experience
  
• Dance partners will be switched
  
• Instructions will be given in English
