Come to TivoliVredenburg on Saturday, April 4, and join the mini-festival ‘Taste of Swing’ organized by the international dance community Swing in Utrecht.

Learn more about swing dancing, make friends on the dance floor, and let loose to jazz music! We will start the day with free dance workshops for beginners. Then we will end the afternoon together with a swinging party.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

• Supervised by a maximum of two teachers.
• All workshops are for beginners and dancers with no experience.Instructions are given in English.
• You don't need a dance partner.
• We switch partners constantly, so everyone dances with everyone else.

LINDY HOP, SOLO JAZZ, AND MORE
Choose and mix the dance styles you want to try:

• Lindy Hop (partner dance), learn more about musicality, connection, and improvisation on the dance floor.
• Solo Jazz (without a partner), become one with the music!
• Blues (partner dance), slow down, flow more smoothly, and get closer to each other.
• Collegiate Shag (partner dance), get started with flashy footwork, creativity, and crazy on the dance floor.
• Balboa (partner dance), dance faster, more subtly, and get closer to each other.

SCHEDULE

• 11:00 - 11:15: Walk in
• 11:15 - 12:00: Kick-of (Lindy Hop)
• 12:00 - 12:30: Information market
  
• 12:30 - 13:15: Block 1 (Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, Balboa)
  
• 13:30 - 14:15: Block 2 (Lindy Hop, Collegiate Shag, Blues)
  
• 14:30 - 17:00: Party with local DJs
