Event: https://facebook.com/events/s/anniversary-dance-fed-farewell/1707214813925662/ Join the Austin Swing Syndicate for our 27th Anniversary Dance and Fed Farewell Party on July 23! Admission is FREE for all members of the Austin Swing Syndicate; general admission is $20. Our final night at the Mansion will be a celebration. It should be worthy of the building that has been the foundation of our community for so many years. We’ll have a live band (TBA), a photographer helping us capture the evening, and a slideshow of community memories throughout the night. We encourage everyone to dress up, dance hard, and help us give this ballroom the joyful farewell it deserves. As part of that effort, we are collecting stories, photos, and favorite memories from the Mansion years. We hope to capture your experiences, so that we can share why the Fed is so special to this community. A submission form is here: https://forms.gle/NfRLwNfEpnjybT7L7 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ About our move: For more than 25 years, the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs has been the home of our weekly dances. Since 1999, that ballroom has held first dances, favorite songs, late-night conversations, performances, friendships, heartbreaks, weddings, jam circles, and thousands upon thousands of swingouts. For many of us, it is impossible to imagine our community anywhere else. And yet, it is time for our next chapter. Here is our transition timeline: 💃 July 9 - Pre-move DJ song request party 🎺 July 16 - Pre-move jazz jam party 🎉 July 23 - Live band for our final dance at the Fed 🚫 July 30 - No dance; volunteer move-out day 🥳 August 6 - Our first dance at Cherrywood Center **Please remember that ALX 2026 will still be at the Fed Nov 12-15th, so there will still be another opportunity to dance there this year!
